Waseim Alfred, Denmark
Mr. Waseim Alfred has a M.Sc. degree in acoustics from Danish Technical University (2005). He was employed as a consultant in Lloyd's Register ODS working with noise and vibration measurements of ships and industrial plants. Mr. Alfred is working in the Danish Defence since 2008. His primary work is calculation of noise from light weapons (shooting noise) and heavy weapons (blast noise) in addition to aircraft noise, especially combat aircrafts. He is also working on development of new ideas to attenuate the noise from the Defence activities. Working together with other noise experts from NATO countries in NATO Research and Technical Organisation.
Teemu Pasanen, Finland
Teemu Pasanen (Finland) is an environmental specialist at Finnish Defense Forces Logistics Command. He has been working with environmental management of military aviation and Finnish Air Force activities since 2006. Aviation noise is his main area of expertise but environmental matters of airbase operations have also been essential part of his work during last decade. He has an MSc degree in environmental sciences from University of Eastern Finland.
Ari Saarinen, Finland
Ari Saarinen, Environmental Counsellor, is working for the Finnish Ministry of the Environment. His responsibilities concern EU and national legislation and development of guidelines and actions in building, technical and environmental acoustics. His former duties involved posts at the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) as a head of the Acoustics and Ventilation Group and as a senior research scientist. He has participated in several national and international management groups and research projects related to the acoustics. He has authored and co-authored several papers on various aspects of acoustics and noise control engineering. He is a co-holder of a few patents related to acoustics.
Theo van Veen, The Netherlands
Drs. Theo van Veen has a M.Sc. degree in physics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (1993). He started as a consultant for local governments working with noise calculations, measurements and regulations (zoning and permits) of multiple noise sources (road, rail, industry, airplanes), vibration measurements related to damage of buildings and annoyance. Mr. van Veen is working for the Netherlands Aerospace Centre since 1998. His primary work is measurement, calculation, regulations and management of noise from military aircraft (manned and unmanned). He is also working on development of new ideas to attenuate the noise from the Defence activities. Working together with other noise experts from NATO countries in NATO Research and Technical Organisation.
